It took me three visits to the lumber supplier to come across this unique piece, but I'd say the time and effort paid off...this is a beautiful set!
The twisted black matte handles really added to the finishing look, not to mention the curvy shape of the board itself.
The fact that I was able to get the two smaller pieces from the same slab made this set complete!
This might be one of my favorite combinations when using two species together. I remember a time when the lumber supplier couldn't get any Zebra wood...it was in high demand. A few zebra plugs in the walnut piece, and a free form handle help make it a one of a kind.
I always try and use unique woods so you get that one of a kind piece. With so many boards looking the same, I find joy in making mine look different than most. The brownish wood is called Lacewood, the center piece is a yellow/gold Canary and the light strips are hard maple.
This is a long grain charcuterie board/tray. The gold and black leather handles really make this a stylish board. The grain is just stunning!
These boards are all approximately 21" x 11" walnut. The middle one is my favorite...it's always nice when you find a board with unique features!
